Other Hobbies?

Brought this one back to life...

Not "new" hobby for me, always have enjoyed music but have recently got into more studio related equipment for music. Using a Lenovo laptop through a JBL controller, JBL studio speakers and a Fluid audio sub. Not as impressive as my normal living room set up but pretty nice to have all my music on the laptop.

I have laid mine eyes on that NSX!
Hmmm... Since we seem to be on the topic of motorized hobbies...

This was last summer when I had to move everything to the driveway so I could use the garage as a 'spray booth' to paint the backs of four 75's and four 40L's during my fish room upgrade. Common thread amongst all four cars is a serious fun factor.

This was my track car that I sold a while back; I still miss it. Was great fun to terrorize the 911's.

I have too many hobbies. I do have my motorcycle, I used to commute on them but that's the least "hobby" of my vehicles.

My current money and time absorber is restoring and or customizing "inexpensive" boats. It's a family thing though and the boys love it. Fun boats for fun fishing and crabbing.

This is the one we took out today, it's the winter fishing (lake or hood canal) specialist, finished it in August. It got a full deck frame, drained and foamed, seat reinforcements, pumps and some other little details. It floats fully swamped, and does about 25 with the three of us on.

We also patched and color changed the crab specialist after a storm pushed it onto the beach too hard while I went for the truck last summer. This one is minimal inside, pull the depth sounder/gps head and you can drive it literally through an automatic carwash if you disconnect from the truck. Perfect for a boat that constantly covered in "crab bait" and salt. It's a little light weight so it's not for those with neck problems but it'll pull 35+ from Kingston around to Salisbury Park on less than 6 gallons.

Of course then we have the real hobby here, my boys and I tie all our own trolling gear, We make from scratch just about anything that's even close to cost effective. We fish and crab as much as we can get away with. As most of you that have met us have noticed my boys are a little different than the average modern children:

They're so into it this is what they did for Halloween, I helped make the boat hull but the rest was dreamed up on their own.

Absolutely love this! You catch more fish in a day than I've caught in my life, and it must be a ton of fun with your boys. Those two little guys are awesome. I also love the color coordination between your boats and tow vehicles.

I also have too many hobbies (I'm single), but a big one is boating. I grew up in coastal New England, and have been a boater all my life. From little Boston Whalers when I was young, to Golden Eye day sailers (built on Cape Cod) later on, to my current boat, which was custom-built for me by Cobalt in 1992. 496HO MerCruiser-powered, 425 prop horsepower, will do 60 on a good day. Sleeps two very comfortably; have spent many pleasant hours aboard. :)

Likewise Keith! Love the boat! Is it docked in Gig Harbor (in the photo)?
Can't answer for him but would love to guess at it. Looks like port orchard to me.

Yup, that pic was taken tied up in guest moorage at Port Orchard, which is an easy 30 minute cruise from home port in the Poulsbo Yacht Club. That was a favourite overnight boating destination pre-pandemic- close by, rarely crowded, nice showers with awesome water pressure, and a pleasant restaurant nearby (Amy's on the Bay, now gone) with the strongest Tanqueray and tonics and best fried oysters around! Maybe next summer?

Another of my hobbies... I collect watches, but more specifically mostly Casio G-Shocks.

Plus more not in a watch box...

My most recent acquisition... very obnoxious and hi-viz, lol

Saw this ad pop up today on my timeline and thought of you…. Not sure if this is the type of g shock you like View attachment 10707
Thats a cool one but most of mine are cheaper except for like three. My favorite and most expensive G-Shock was the 'Frogman', it was a $500 watch that I got for $350 on Amazon because it was missing the cardboard box (still had the metal tin) and instructions which you can download. Then I have a couple imports that were in the $200 range otherwise most are $100 or less.

A little music on headphones… not really my preference but every now and then a little something different. These Studio headphones are my true listening seriously phones but for just casual listening I do use my Apple AirPods Pro.

Just recently had my 60" Sony 3D TV die so I had to replace it. The new one is a 4K unit and i had to go to a 65" because they no longer make a 60".

Had to move my wall mount up about 8" and run new 4K rated HDMI cables
IMG_20220305_150945741.jpg
Wall mounted the ROKU on wall behind TV and ran wires in a channel for a clean install
IMG_20220308_122109937.jpg
All done!
IMG_20220305_165550819_HDR.jpg
This got me motivated to work on our guest room TV set up and do a wall mount on an arm. That one will be a bit easier since its only a 32"

So my sister in law had a rental where the tenant who moved out left this... Anyone know what it is? (I do, turned it on to see what it was)
It normally has a sticker across the bottom telling you what it is...
