With my inability to clean my tanks ( per doctors orders) my son is having a hard time keeping up with maintenance since he also has his own interests. I’ve decided to downsize a bit.
Today I’ll be getting rid of my stacked 75g tanks and stand . The cool thing is it is going to a former student ( when I say former, she is now 31, haha).
When she first got into fish keeping, she reached out to me for advice since she has fond memories of a 8” female red dragon flowerhorn I had in my tank that would attack the glass when you walked up to it. Haha
It makes me happy that I am having an impact on the hobby, even if it is a small one.
Next year, I’ll be splitting my time teaching 8th grade US history (2 periods) and 3 periods of art. I get the large art room with a sink. My plans currently include having some rock dwellers in the fluval, I plan to get from dmd.
And I plan to raise up some baby butterfly koi for my uncles pond ( I am currently on the hunt for a 50 gallon acrylic tank 48”x15x by however tall). My uncle has a complete Japanese garden in his backyard with a huge koi pond and a water fall that flows down to an extra large goldfish pond with bridge over it. He still has a standard koi I bought him when I was in highschool. It is a monster fish and I bought it at 4” back in 97.
