What did you do with your tank(s) today?

I am trying an experiment to see how it goes. Have it set up for 2 months now, unsure if it's progressing or not.
I maintained a 2.5g for a bit where I would dump the blackworms when I brought them home. I don't think they ever reproduced.

Setup a "new" tank. Was the wife's desk tank, now she has large office with a couch lol She wants a real tank now. So in the interim, I set it up in the bedroom and moved some fish around.
Her almost 4 yr old guppy is having fun meeting girls for the first time lol

He's definitely senile though. Was trying to mate with a bacopa lol

Feeding the baby Bettas as usual these days lol

It's been a lot of fun. Kind of dreading the getting rid of them part though. Once I get it going it will be fine. Just things I haven't really had to do yet. But I have about 12% of a plan, it'll work out :)

Longer term, I'll probably do it again in the future. Next project that isn't livebearers I think will be ordering killifish eggs on Amazon just for kicks. Pretty sure it will be $30 "wasted" but actually fairly educational and might produce a couple fish. If I can get fish and breed those fish then I'll call it $30 well spent on some fun.

Water changes and some bits of extra cleaning on garage tanks today. The new Boesemani rainbows have settled in nicely and all look plump and healthy. Nice colors coming in on all, even the females are looking great. They are not quite the schooling fish I wanted, they are a bit more scattered than the roselines I had but are very active and outgoing. I do only have 5 at the moment. Looking to add at least 2 more females to the mix.

Finally got the "last Betta" It was blue lol

As for black worms,

Also, this is a good talk. Presenter is certainly an enthusiast and recognizes the intelligence contained in forums :)

Cleaned the pond filter and did a minor aquascape lol

I love my surgical table :)

The zip ties are temporary until I can get a couple band clamps. Needed to get that one a bit higher so the iris stop melting. Hope I didn't kill the bulbs. Took about 5 different attempts and I think I need it a bit higher. So I'll drop the water level a bit. But with the warm snap coming it's holding spawn mops in case.

From less than 12% of a plan to "I need to make room and put it in place" in a half day. Going to add middle brace for the bottom but pretty much ready to move indoors for finishing in place. It will be easily removable using mostly the original IKEA hardware and holes lol

Gotta do a little bracing, maybe. I know one, may add more once it's together.

PXL_20240317_040816180.jpg
Batteries ran out so left it there for now. Still need to brace the center but trying to find the "center" from an accessibility perspective. If I center it then I lose some access to the ten. If I off center it to the 30 then I give the loaded section a bit more offset away from the load.

I dunno, I'll clear out the tens and get those uprights set in place and move things around until happy.

Amphibian eggs. First live ones of the season. Last warm break has a few spawns that died overnight.

The tadpole and aquarium plants pond.

Been starting my summertime chores around the house so the tanks dont get as much love as they do in the winter. Just basic water changes and feeding for a bit. not as much of the detailed cleanings so the tanks are not sparkling clean, they look like a normal fishkeepers tanks, lol.

Super happy with my addition of the 5 rainbows to the 90g sev tank. In fact I want to add at least two more female to the group. I am on the lookout too for some more fish for my 46g bowfront. It is super sparse and needs more fish. Looking to add a few more of the Madagascar rainbows and maybe some sort of catfish and gourami.

Alright, boys on the Left, girls on the right. Everyone else back to class.

Edit: School? Shoal? Evolving moshpit?
