Shrimp Tank Additives

Question: @Mike16T @Keefe @Betty @julzhull @Knutsen1122 @anyone else I forgot

How quickly do you reinstall the catapa leaves? Do you always have an "intact" leaf in there or ? I have two; one is a skeleton, one is working on being a skeleton any minute. How long do you leave them in there?

BTW I counted ELEVEN shrimp this morning. No deaths so far! *giddy*

No special procedure.. Just drop it in the tank or use a stick and make a catapa leaves skewer. Shrimps and snails will go to town to it.

Leaves can be a good food source also when you go on a short vacation trip.

I never take the old ones out but let them break down completely. I will add a new one just as soon as the old one is almost like you describe above.

Those look amazing! I'm going for simple cherry shrimp I bought a Skrittle mix so I'm going to have a rainbow of colors in my nano. Maybe someday I'll up the ante and get something a little fancier but these look pretty fun to me.

UPDATE: Yesterday, did my FIRST official "water change" (10%) in the Shrimp Tank. Stirred up all kinds of molts - love that. No one is pregnant yet. I upped the "secure feeling" ante with another cholla log and one of those shrimp hides...looks like a small stack of black tubes. My water parameters are rock solid.
