Some what related. I set up another emersed set up. This time I use containers and built a manifold over my pleco tank. This will be used to grow plants I already have. I'm tired of getting rid of plants I have grown for others and eventually buying them again in 4 months.[GALLERY=media, 219]P_20170403_152401 by L190 posted Apr 3, 2017 at 3:47 PM[/GALLERY]

I don't even know truly what that means but I am IMPRESSED, let's just say that.

if you guys are interested, i figured out why my mister / sprayer didn't work. My first mister was just 1/4" irrigation tuning with tees and 360 degree sprayers. The tubing was directly connected to the pump. I thought my pump wasn't powerful enough so i got a stronger pump (1455 gph) and my sprayer didn't spray right, it was more of a dribble. This is a picture of the 1st design.[GALLERY=media, 220]P_20170406_180331 by L190 posted Apr 6, 2017 at 6:05 PM[/GALLERY]

Thinking that the pump can't pump water thru a small opening, i design another spray. This one uses 3/4" cpvc. I used a drill bit with a threader and put in 6 openings and screwed in the spray heads. I hooked it up to a smaller pump and it works!!! Here is a bad picture of the new system.[GALLERY=media, 221]P_20170406_180404 by L190 posted Apr 6, 2017 at 6:05 PM[/GALLERY]

Next step is put the sprayer system and lights on a timer.

Also i have already put plants in there. So far I have crypt albida, crypt lingua, crypt affinis metallic red, crypt affinis green, crypt blassii, crypt cordata, crypt hudoroi, crypt nurii, crypt wendtii de witt, anubias coffeefolia, anubias barteri, anubias nana petite, anubias congensis mini, and mini aridarium

I'm always interested in learning something!

This is amazing!

I grow a lot of houseplants -- and my garden is pretty epic outside too - but boy have these plants enjoyed having fish tanks bubbling around the house. Man! My spider plant is off the chain!

FYI it looks like those harbor freight digital timers and ones like it won't work on water pumps. I tried with mutiple timers of the same style i had on hand and on different pumps. I had to switch to another type of timer for my water mister to work right. Now i can sit back and and enjoy the emersed tank.

well i tried making a nice scenic stream side view with crypts but that failed miserably. so I went with a very basic set up, not pretty but does the job. The lights are on for 12 hours in 2 chunks of 6 hours and the sprayers are on 4 times a day for 15 minutes each time. The plants i have in there are: crypt dewitt, eriocaulon breviscapum, erio. parkeri, blood vomit, syngonanthus giant, crypt. albida, crypt lingua, crypt wendtii "flordia sunset", crypt affinis, crypt affinis "metallic red", crypt nurii, crypt usteriana, crypt minima gasser, crypt ferruginea serkin, crypt lingga platnium line, crypt blassi, crypt cordata, mini aridarium, aridarium narrow leaf, anubias nana petite, anubias cofferafolia, and various anubias. I'll have more plants coming tomorrow that will go in this tank.
