Well project wild oscar didn’t work.... the tiny guy started biting on the het and even getting up in the weeksii’s face and flaring. Most cichlids avoid bichirs but this tiny thing was going at fish much bigger. It was just plain psychotic. Had to pull him out and put him back in the 65 with the red oscar.

Sorry to hear that! Wild instincts took over? Maybe try again when adult and perhaps calmer? Also could just be establishing dominance as tank boss and once everyone submits will chill out.

I put him back with the red who put him in his place quickly. The little wild was very scared for a while of all the fish and then like a flip of a switch just went off on the het and was flaring at the weeksii. It was still afraid of the pearsei because of the sheer size difference.
Not sure what the deal was but wasnt having any of that nonsense, the tank is so peaceful and calm normally so no trouble makers!

1 20lb bag of CaribSea River of Doubt sand. Have another coming this week. Hopefully deep enough for a puffer to bury itself in.
