The jaw bone is more than likely from a dog. I found it out in the woods. I also have a raccoon skull in my brichardi tank that is fully covered in java moss. When I had a Rhodesian ridgeback that I would take to the woods quite often and find all kinds of cool rocks and wood and critter bones, most have ended up in my tanks

Yes bones do the same thing that coral and shells do for the water, they raise the PH a bit as well as the hardness. Plus they look pretty neat in a fish tank

I also have a large boor jaw that once I find it I will put it in one tank or another.
The bettas are both male butterfly half moons, the purple/blue one is named Purkle and the cellophane one is named Opal. I Plan on getting some of their sisters soon and seeing if I have what it takes to breed them.
