When you think your tank is escape proof...

He jumped the top overflow of the upper right tank and then traveled that to the linked bottom tank- traveled the entire bottom tank and into its uncovered overflow...got bound up in the T at the bottom that distribute water onto my sand bed and felt that drains to the sump.

Happened in one night.

First of all, that picture you posted with the details should be in Fish Escape Magazine or something.

Second, I'm sorry that this happened to you.

@DMD123 - what can someone do with these kinds of fish to prevent this kind of thing? What do you do?

Tight fitting glass tops that are weighed down are about the best you can do. If you have a hob filter they can even get out with the required cut out for the filter. Some people have made custom netting/grill things to even cover those little openings.

I underestimated a poly once and it popped open my light weight glass lids and died. So now I use the heavy type glass tops.
