I ran into an old friend recently and we got to talking about his fish and we came to realize that he has a synodontis angelicus that was like 30yrs old.
Man, I thought we would see some older fish... My midas and sailfin pleco were both 3yrs old, sad that I just lost them both. My 3 red hook silver dollars are about 2 1/2 yrs old.
My firemouth pair is over 7 years old. And my big male jag is 6. My L200 is at least 3 or 4, don't know for sure but I got it at full size like 2 years ago.
wish mel posted here cause hes raised many cichlids that were 15+ years old from fry. i believe his original male dovii lived to be 17. im only 20 its wierd to think of raising a fish for almost my entire lfetime  ive only been keeping fish for a little over a year so my oldest doesnt come anywhere close to everybody
i have a SYNODONTIS EUPTERUS thats easliy over 9 years old now, one of the first fish i purchased when getting in to the hobby...i think it stays younge by consuming all souls from the severum eggs and fry
