going thru all the threads i realized how many people lost something for any reason like filter ate it,heater cooked it,jumped, beat or old age.i wanted to see what everyone lost.

sadly i lost
14 inch tiger oscar 7-8 years of owning he was my first fish a i bought him when i was younger so i made a lot of newbie mistakes and the reason i try to be educated on everything i buy.i did not get smart about him until he was 10 inches or so.supposed to be 8 TOTAL BS i can now adress almost every large cichlid by real name not store name now.

8 inch pacu i bought him at a lfs because he was 1 1/2 inches and in the big tank being harrased i was also told it gets 16 inches. It died my luecistic oscar had rammed it to hard and he floated up.r.i.p goliath the only monster i planned on keeping 2 years of owning.me and my step dad were gonna do a plywood build in my garage (maybe next year).

this is my loss yours.

My list is HUGE! I had a horrible bacterial outbreak from adding wild caught fish without first quarantining.

But the ones I miss the most were an 11" male Midas who was 3 yrs old, a wild caught male Pearsei, wild caught female Argentea and my sailfin pleco.

A tank worth of snowball shrimp disappeared, one by one. I also lost a whole order of green babaulti shrimp (12, I think). And I lost a number of RCS in my walstad 20g when it was relatively new. Plus I lost nearly all of my mystery snails to bonehead flourish excel overdosing... Then there was the order of 8 dwarf cajuns, only 3 of which survived after they hit my water.

As far as actual fish - two long-fin zebra danios are about it, I think.

well, my favorite, or not my favorite.... was still a fish that was in my hands to take care of, and I failed big time buy a stupid mistake.... caused them all to get stressed and bloat. :(

Why tropheus are my favorite fish is because of the challenge though... have to be on a good diet, and have a good routine or they can catch bloat and infect the whole tank.... watching them eat, constantly checking water parameters, keeps me on my toes and excited about the hobby. :)
