I'm the snail pic. And those little buggers are crazy prolific - if you want any let me know, I'd be happy to drop some off to your mom whenever she's travelling through. :) I thought "thinning the herd" for them would mean it should take it a bit to get a large population. The snails aparently took it as a personal challenge to keep population levels steady.

If my assassins can get through the bladder.ramshorns i have now I'd be very interested. I really like having them in my tanks, even fed them but then they started to eat my plants. If you want I can give you a handful of trumpet snails. These are the only snails I don't use as food despite having hundreds and hundreds of them. They just do so much good for my plants and haven't caused me a problem yet. Anywho the snail pic was wonderful, never seen such a beautiful ramshorn before.

Thanks :) Just let me know if you want any. In theory I like the trumpet snails - what I've read about them is interesting. I'm running a NPT right now, so I'm hesitant to introduce anything that is a substrate burrower due to the soil layer under my gravel. But thank you for the offer. :)

No problem, I'm surprised you haven't had a problem with your ramshorns burrowing. Mine are always in the sand(you can only see the very top of their shells) until I drop some algae wafer in there and then they come out of the ground like zombies. Maybe the gravel keeps them from burrowing.

Shouldn't we be voting on a November POTM by now?
