Yep, better safe than sorry! I ended up reinforcing the stand too. I know you were talking about that with yours. I ended up putting a 3/4" bottom to help spread the weight and added 2X4's inside and put a sheet of ply on the back. I cant believe how cheaply made these 'store bought' stands are.

That's what I was thinking this is all press board!..and it has gotten wet around the front center brace and all along the back so its oohh 2xs bigger all puffed out it was holding the tank but I don't know how..I might just build a stand for it out of 4x4s for peace of mind..and do a larger base like you did..I was already thinking of setting it on a larger peace of board but if i build one than ill just add it in to the stand and seal the enter thing.
