Did any of you Fishboxers near my neck of the woods, hear or experience that tornado that touched down here in Puyallup/Fredrickson area this morning? http://www.king5.com/news/local/Strong-windstorm--Western-Washington-weekend-225716201.html Where it touched down is only 5 minutes from my house. Dang I new this was going to be a crazy Winter. :suspect:  Where is my generator? :x  I hope it gets here before we get anymore excitement. :affraid:

They are still assessing the damage and trying to determine the category level. I heard some serious wind and rain combination but had no desire to actually wake up and look. A couple of loud thunder crashes but never would have guessed that a tornado was just outside my door. :affraid: :affraid:

Listening to that wind and rain, I was expecting our power to go out last night, but we were lucky... this time! I hope you get that generator in place soon!

8 inches of rain in the month of September. :affraid:  And 2 feet of snow in the Cascades, :affraid:

Yea, I am so getting ready this weekend when everything shows up. A couple of locals here have some videos of the tornado, once I get them I will post them up.

not the first time in my life ive heard of a tornado here. a few years back (maybe a decade idk) there was one that touched down in the middle of downtown on somebodys rooftop wedding.. idk about you guys but i like living here because all we have to worry about is (or at least was) volcanos, lahar's, tsunami's, pretty much anything volcano related, none of these messy tornados or hurricanes or tropical storms TYVM! may have to consider moving soon... but where would be any better...

I heard about a little twister up in the Renton Highlands about 15 years ago.. touched down and tore up some sheds and roof shingles. Just has to be the perfect storm I guess.

My wife is deathly afraid of weather, especially lightning and tornadoes. We were up in Bonney Lake doing security at MWRF during the lightning storms, camped outside and everything. It was awe inspiring, but I think if I saw a tornado I'd start running.

But she says she's seen some massive dust devils as well that have touched down for a few seconds on the side of I5, 101, and 512. Paranoia though. ^ ^ lol

Record rains, tornadoes, snow warnings... I think Mother Nature is catching up from a summer that was almost (NW Wash) perfect.

It was a great summer considering the last few very rainy summers we have had.

Giant dust devils are cute until you drive through one. I thought it was gong to toss the truck over... :affraid: This was many years ago on hwy 26 going to Pullman.

WA gets multiple tornadoes a year, typically F0 or F1, but they rarely injure anyone or do much damage.

In 1972 a F3 tornado tore up Portland and Vancouver - it killed 6 people, injured 300, and did a ton of damage.

According to the news we average about 1-2 a year. Last one I can recall was a couple years ago out in Enumclaw.

Amazing to see a rail car tipped because of the wind. I was happy I did not lose power during that storm.
