The New Guy.

Hey everyone,

New to WA, just got stationed here with the Army.
Glad to be able to continue the only true hobby I have.
Keeping fish. I currently am only Running an 80g, housing my Flowerhorn, and Vieja Bifa plus all there babies.
Looking forward to seeing these fish grow.

Always looking to learn more about my fish and any other fish so this forum and MFK's are sure to be the
Main part of my day when on the Internet.

Hey! I'm in JBLM too! Main post! Welcome to Washington (You came at the right time, the weather is starting to clear up)!

Your Images aren't working by the way!
But I can Imagine it's a pretty awesome setup.
I just came here a few months ago, but it's a pretty good state (minus the scary drivers).

Anyways, Welcome to WaFishbox, and Welcome to JBLM!

Hope you have a good time at reception (if you're still there), or at your new unit.

I've been here for about 8 months now. I'm with 1-229th ARB. I fix the Apaches you see flying around. Pretty nice here. Not a fan of the cold tho. I'm from Florida.

Welcome Jon.

The cold isnt nearly half as bad as going 2-3 months without seeing the sun. Or dealing with rain for 3 months straight at a time.

@Jon
Lol really? Wow, so we've been here for about the same time then, and yea dude the cold sucks! I'm from Louisiana. When I saw the snow I was like.... (how am I going to drive in this..?)

Dude I work pretty close to there! I'm with the 201st BFSB. I just do office work!

@madness, it felt more like 5 months of str8 no sun, and 4 months of str8 rain!

I didnt want to freak him out to bad. LOL But one thing is true, when we finally get sun in the Summer, it is amazing. (For like 4 weeks only :) )

Re: The New Guy.

Welcome! The last couple days have reminded me of summer (hot and nearly sweating). Washington allows you to experience all the seasons, you'll learn to love it. I've been to quite a few states that people deem beautiful, but I still think Washington looks the best.

Have you been to the fish store Aquarium Paradise in Lakewood yet? I just stopped by there a couple days ago to have a look for the first time. Lots of cichlids, community, and saltwater fish. They will also take orders on fish you are interested in (if their supplier has them).

@CrazedAce. Yes Dominic is helpful and it's now the only aquarium store local ill go to.

Purchased my Vieja Bifa from them, although Mike told me it was an Umbee. My fault for not checking Cichlids are new to me. There's so many. But she instantly paired up with my Flowerhorn which was unexpected. Now I've 200+ Fry. Lol.

And yes it is nice here. It's like living in Santas Village. All these trees. I miss palm trees.

:afro: .oO It takes about a year to acclimate to the weather. About 5 years to grow webs on your feet, and a life time of moss removal- it grows on everything... Ha!

Welcome to the forum!

Not to derail, but I happen to work at AP part-time and have recently begun to promote this forum to interested customers. If you happen to stop by and see a bearded dude usually cleaning freshwater tanks don't hesitate to say hi, I'd love to meet new fishbox members!
