No more dirt!

After about 6 months of running a dirted tank I decided it was time to try something different. Here are the before and after pics. Enjoying the cleaner feel so far, although plant health isn't what it used to be.

I think they both look nice, but like the brightness of the after shot. :)

I, too like the brightness of the after shot. There are plenty of people on here that seem to get awesome plant growth with inert substrates. I am sure they can help you, if you have trouble getting your plants to grow.

Something I did for my mom's bare bottom planted tank was I took ADA Amazonia substrate. I used hot glue to cover the holes in the bottom of the pots, plus a decent sized layer of ADA substrate in the bottom, then a 1" sand cap and then put decorative rock over the sand cap for aesthetics. That way the plants have nutrients to feed off of and grow lush and well.
