My new shrimp rack!

Thought I'd show all our local people what I've been up to lately, haven't been to active on the forum of late but working 6 days a week and trying to get the school district to unscrew you doesn't give you much free time

Anyway, the last week or so I've been heavily involved on my newest addiction, which is shrimp of course...
Went to lowes (conveniently across the street from work) to get the last bit of lumber I needed to build my own rack when I ran across this easy to build rack...

Thing only took me like 15 minutes to put together, well worth the 80 bucks saving on the time and work i'd have to put into building my own stand lol

I could potentially have 12 10 gallon tanks on there but that seems like too many right now, could change down the road but I think I'll start with 8 or 9 10 gallon tanks... it's perfect for my vivariums too.

Current plans are:
1.)Tangerine Tiger and Painted Fire Red
2.)Tangerine Tiger and Fire Blue
3.)Orange Eyed Blue Tiger
4.)Crystal Red/Black Shrimp
5.)Sakura/Rili shrimp
6.)Cardinal and Goldflake shrimp
7.)Blue Bee and yellow shrimp
8.)Harlequin shrimp
9.) [maybe... where the viv is] BB, BKK or WR... depending how successful my breeding project goes lol

Have the tangerine tigers, maybe 75 left out of 100 ordered... not the best odds ever but still not terrible on a newly discovered species.

I've also got a blue bolt and 4 BKK gene CRS on the way, not going on this rack yet if at all but thought I'd share the photo from the seller...

So lemme know what you all think! I'm pretty happy with it so far lol

You should think about setting up water distribution system to fill the tanks. It would be a real pain to haul all those buckets back and forth.

Looks good Alex. I've got the orange-eyed blue tigers breeding myself. And man do they like ot get busy! My original order of 6 is probably about 100 now. I've started selling and auctioning them off at this point.

Your tangerine tigers look really nice. :)

It would be easier but since ill have so many types that need different parameters it wouldn't work too well... Like for the sulawesi I need a bucket of ro sitting overnight with some crushed coral to do water changes on them...

I probably won't have anything for sale for several months, keeping about 20 tangerine tigers in # 1 and 2 and uaing whatevers left to trade for the other shrimp species... which if you're interested in larry maybe we could work out a trade once my TT have settled and I know I won't lose any more :D

Spy... they'd better taste like unicorns roasted on rainbows at the cost of some of them :p

A little bit of an update...

kept losing tangerines in the one tank, maybe 10 left in there now and I couldn't figure out why... started feeding a food that helps them resist infection from various invert diseases and they've perked up and are crazy active all the sudden, given that they were wild caught could definitely had one in there that spread something to the rest.

Cholla wood... stuff is the shiznit! Within moments of being in any of my shrimp tanks they're swarming all over it, and once it finally sunk they're goin nuts on it! I'll grab some pics when I get a chance.

Also finally got conformation that my blue bolt is shipping out tomorrow! Can't wait, should be pretty exciting. Debating taking the day off on saturday to sit home and watch it lol

Alex! - Good to see you back on here! Your setup is looking good! IF you're interested, there is a shelf/rack setup at Costco for $60 that I just set up. 4'w x 6'h x 17"d. Max shelf load is 1500#. 4 shelves. Black powder coated steel. Several of us in GSAS are using it.

Been meaning to update this but my computer is broke, and phone camera sucks lol

Thanks everyone!
Ron, I'm debating another rack for frogs and ebr rearing, ill have to check it out!
Front dude... lol... umm, oh yeah, just wait til its all fully hooked up and loaded! Then you'll have some kick ass shrimp for your 10g.

Not much to update, have 1 more tank up and running with red rili shrimp, and 2 more empties waiting for some water... have 2 king kongs coming in sometime, dealing with an importer that's getting them from Canada so I guess it takes some time. Meh.

Pics when I get some good ones!

Thanks for the update. As I was browsing the net yesterday I came across some nifty dwarf shrimp for sale and wondered how your shrimp were doing. Now that your tangerines aren't going to that big gumbo pot in the sky, are they breeding? Good luck with your shrimp breeding program!

Tangerines hadn't been doing much of anything, no deaths but no berries... up until Friday! Have 3 females berried up now since then, pretty happy.
