My first truly interesting yeild

I saw this male last night when adding a couple new members to the guppy kingdom. Judging by his size/age, I think he is a mix of my snakeskin male, and one of the sunset females I've had. He's only just colored up like this in the last couple of days. At first I thought it was a female because his dorsal is rather small.

Photos arent totally accurate on color, as I had to use my webcam to get such a macro shot (he's still only about a 1/4"). His body is iridescent blue with a red streak and black spots, and he has one big black spot in the middle of his dorsal fin. A black pinstripe down his anterior body, and then a tail like most of my snakeskin's offspring.

I have several offspring so far that I like, but this is the first one that really looks different. my snakeskin male must have pretty strong genetics, as I have at least four other pint-size males that look just like him now.

yeah... my guppies color up pretty quick. I think they are quite happy to live in a 29 gallon tank full of plants with a few gallons of water included ;)

they are technically supposed to be food for my predator, but I figure I might as well have tasty looking food, right?

I have a lineage like this! It's a snakeskin/magenta amalgam. Mine throw neon green, purple and blue gups, along with bits of tequila sunrise and a sort of coral rose hue. Yeah, they mutts - but the prettiest guppies I've ever seen!

Mine happened When I put a frosty pink/coral male from petsmart with what I thought was a tiger.snakeskin female - but now realize must have been a magenta. The results are staggeringly beautiful, these guppies look like neons. Let me know if you want to swap some for genetic variation sometime. I have three tanks of them running right now.
