Is the Festae a special type? I have looked at a couple of them (adult sized 4-6 inches) at a few of my LFS for the bright orange colored one you have, but they all appear to be yellowish. Does that mean they are female or? any info would be greatly appreciated as I just picked up 110 gallon that I am currently cycling, and I would like a bright orange one to be the center piece of my tank once it is ready.

Quite frankly, I got this superb female at world of wet pets for $20 at 3.25" or less. It was a trade in, so collection point unkown or captive status unkown. There may be other festae owners who may call me out on it by saying this, but it has always been this colorful bright self from day one at this small size. Which is a little unusual based upon my bias observation, lol. 24/7 when lights are on, and fades when lights are off. Brightens up pretty fast though. Hopefully she'll produce some lookers soon.

that's the kind of deal i am hoping for! Though, that sounds a lot like winning the lottery You have put me on the hunt to branch out to other stores in the weekends to come
( i figure i have 2+ weeks till tank is ready)..... thanks for the inspiration

There is a quote button/tab you can select on each prior poster message. It's in the right corner next to multi and quote. Choose the message you want to respond directly to and select the quote button, and it will default in the field where you type. Hope that helps. Meanwhile, good luck on your festae search!

thanks! Aquarium paradise told me that they should be getting some juvenile festae in a couple of weeks! so ill just have to get a couple and hope one turns out to be a female....

That's an amazing looking tank and beautiful fish, thank you so much for sharing! I can't wait for my V. argenteus to grow up.
