Liem explained that in Chinese culture, it is considered good luck to buy a new fish for the new year, and he had just recently received an order of more than 10,000 fish. They all died in the fire.
“Just gone,” said Liem. “No food is no problem, but no air no temperature, and fish can’t survive.”
I laughed at what you said about being afraid to go in on your first visit there, but that's how I felt when I first set foot in Mr. Liem's store.Betty said:I heard about this fire, but didn't realize Liem's was there. I will never forget the first time I saw the store -- I was afraid to go in, but am glad I did. I hope everything works out for those affected.
: He has been around for 35yrs now. Very nice quiet man. His daughter said that the store was his passion and I hope he can rebuild soon..
