ideas for floating plants

I wanted to get some floating plants for my 55 gal planted community. I mistakenly got some duckweed which is taking over the water surface area as we speak, hence I will be removing this stuff this weekend. My fish love it however, so I would like to get them some floating plants that aren't so infesting.

Suggestions on floating plants, and where in King county might they be?

Thanks,

I've tried a lot of floating plants myself before, but they all end up taking over the top if you treat them well. My bottom plants always ended up suffering.

You migh try some frogsbit. It does well for my killies and guppies. but that's the only plant that I have in the those tanks. It will take off and gow well too if you have the right conditions

If you keep goldfish, you can net off the duckweed and put it in their tank and they will love eating it. That's what I do with it.

I had salvinia in my 5.5 gallon. I agree with everyone that it can take over the top, but I controlled that by taking a handful out every day or two (when I fed the fish).

Water lettuce is nice same with frogbit...all surface plants will take over just scoop it out and feed it to turtles/goldfish/trash can. when you have more than you want

they are all great nutrient sponges.
