Keith Fournier: “Ain't Nothin' Like Tanganyika”
SPU, Otto Miller Hall Room 109

We are delighted to have as our January speaker, Keith Fournier, a molecular geneticist who has been keeping fish, mostly cichlids, for over 60 years. Keith is especially interested in the diversity of rift lake cichlids of Lake Tanganyika. You might remember Keith's award-winning Poulsbo home in recent GSAS 2025 home show, where he showed off his dozen tanks, most over 100 gallons, full of Tropheus and other Tanganyika cichlids.
For our January meeting, Keith will, of course, be speaking on the lake, and the amazing fish that inhabit it.

After the main presentation, stay for the Monthly Auction.

I’m sure the presentation from Keith was amazing! I know the time I visited his house was amazing and my son and I talk about it often fondly ( even if every other conversation is about is car collection since my son is now enthralled with cars).

Hope the auction was successful as well!

Great turnout, and great response. This wasn't so much a 'how to' talk as it was about the natural history of Lake Tanganyika and the evolution of its cichlid fauna. It made for a long day doing the back-and-forth from Poulsbo, but I really enjoyed it.

That’s great! Did you stay for the auction / pick up anything that worked with your tanks?
