So for me the wet/dry filtration has run its course....

I am now a Fluval FX6 believer!

This filter is amazing and the water flow is bad ass!

Its wicked easy to use and very very quiet. I love this filter and I have placed it on the 150 African tank.

I am selling my ESHOPPS WC200 wet/dry with pump and all hard line pvc attachments for $100 for whomever wants it!

Congrats on the new filter. You should post the wet/dry in the For Sale forum. It might get seen better in that section. :)

So why exactly are you not impressed with the wet/dry? I could list several positives of a wet/dry, and just as many negatives about a canister. Not to mention just the ease of cleaning a wet/dry as compare to the Fx6. What size tank and what type/size of wet/dry were you using?

I actually like both but will only use them in the garage. I've had bad luck with leaks and draining water anytime I use them in the house ( obviously my mistakes) but now I run large hob(x2) on house tanks with sponge filters as well.....

I'm interested in knowing how the the fx6 works as I only currently use the fx5 and cascade 1500 canisters

Everyone has their personal preference, but im with Madness, who i think changed all his Fx5s for sumps? I like the sump because its far easier to maintain and super cheap. Just replace a piece of batting which cost about a penny. I also use my sumps like a "frag" tank for freshwater starts, anubias, ferns, buce. I have shrimps living in my sump. I have even been known to throw a fish or two in my sump in a pinch. To me its like a whole different tank.

I switched due to noise, constant moisture due to open exposure, and losing fish and food constantly in the overflows

The quiet and performance of the FX6 are great...
