I need a stand built !I just bought a 210 gal tank(72Lx24Wx30H) and stand for a decent price off of craigslist and i'm not really excited about the stand it came with. The tank and stand are sitting on the balcony of my second story apartment. I won't be setting it up until I move in a month or so, but I am looking to either have the one I own rebuilt or have an entirely new constructed. I don't have the tools or space for such a project so if theres anyone interested let me know.

Congrats on the new tank. My 210g came with the lame fish store stand that looked like it would not hold the weight so I beefed it up and did some cosmetic changes. Much better now.

Many of the home improvement stores will cut wood for you, and if you borrow a cordless drill you can make a pretty decent stand.... A little spray paint and your done. I know easier said than done.

A simple 2x4 stand is really the way to go. If the upright 2x4's are placed close to perpendicular to the ground they can handle around 10,000lbs each, give or take as there are tons of factors involved. Being as your tank filled with water, sand, etc will be pushing the 2,000lb mark, I'm going to say you will be safe!! I have made two for 4-foot tanks and the cost was about $25 apiece. You can always throw some thin plywood of your choice around it for a good looking skirt.

Here is one of the two stands.

make sure to visit a lumber yard for your wood. they have lots of options for pretty plywoods. its what i ended up doing for my tank, knotty pine boards for the front and a nice veneer plywood for the sides and top.

Well now it doesn't seem to be much of a task after hearing from you all. I can definitely do $25 :) I'm going to look into it more and get to building.
