Bog Wood Project!

So, in preparation for my big tanks arrival next summer, I started on some bogwood treatment. I decided I wanted two hollowed out logs approximately 10 inches across, with the end of one sitting atop the end of the other. In addition, I want the stump from the log at the end of the tank. Yesterday I picked out an ash tree of the appropriate size. After my dad and I cut it down, I spend an hour with a pressure washer on the stump/root ball and the 9 foot diameter stump is now about 5 feet. I also have an approximately 8 foot log about 10 inches in diameter on the large end. The log will be cut in half, and then I have to decide how to make these two logs hollow! pictures soon :D

Did lots of work today on the stump part, no progress on the log though.

It doesn't look like much, but I spent almost an hour today cutting off smaller stuff with a handsaw and pruners. Another few hours, and maybe a powersaw to go! Then I'll have to get all the bark off... that will be the least fun part.
