Betta tankmate?

So, i have a 2.5g with a male betta. I tried him in my 30g planted but him and the RTM just did not get along. To prevent the death of the betta i got a used 2.5g off of CL. I put in a pink rainbow skirt tetra for some variety (thinking there is no way this completely finless betta is going to bother it) well, he did so i took it out. This made my puffer happy by the way, he got a snack. Is there anything else i can put in this 2.5g that will not end in the likely death of one of the fish?

note: this is not a must, i was just curious if it was possible.

Some trumpet snails would be cool in there. Most of the tetras need to be in a group of their own kind to be happy

In a well planted 2.5 you could try otto.

My 2.5g betta is a solo male. I tried guppies in the past and i was surprised at how he was able to kill and eat ones that I thought were too large.

depending on how mean he is maybe some shrimp??? I have one that lives just fine in my community tank, and one that refused to live with anything. They are tricky little brats when it comes to cohabitation.

I had a betta in my goldfish tank for years. One betta in a midst of goldfish looked awesome and everyone got a long great. Mind you though these goldfish where 3'' or longer.

Just because it's possible, doesn't mean you should do it. They need quite the opposite tank conditions to be happy and healthy. I always admire a person that keeps fish in conditions that suits that species best. As with any animal one chooses to take on, you have the obligation and responsibility to give them the best environment possible.

Mine gets along ok with whats in my 29 gal. He chases the Danios occasionally, but only after they try to steal food from right in front of him.

Edit: Durrr...Tired reading = fail posting

My daughter has a few white clouds in here betta tank. I was told they can tolerate the lower temperatures (non heated tank). A couple snails in there too.
