A new monster

I posted on Facebook saying I got two 55gal tanks and a friend said he would give me another for free. Well I wasn't ready for what I found:









48 7/8 x 18 x 27 7/16
It's over 100 gallons! Free! Haven't tested it, but he said it held water. Didn't see any cracks either. :)

Because that's totally a 55 right?! At least it still fits in the car! Such an awesome monster XD Got any plans vague ideas on how to stock it?

My wife just told me she won't let me use it until we move to our own place and no renting. So I guess it will sit in the shed for a while. :(

But she was talking about doing a saltwater reef tank. Though if I can convince her to let me use it as a growout... lol

lol probably a good idea. don't think some places would appreciate it as it would only be a giant water damage disaster in their eyes. 0.o
.....0.0 my god what would you need 100gallons to grow out? except Koi. or 5million guppies bwhahah course I looked at the dimensions and went ...isn't that kinda skinny? full grown bichir wouldn't fit lengthwise in that, almost but not quite. Course my biggest fish to date is my RTS <3 *steals your tank and dumps 4 teeny tiny oscars in it laughing manically*

Some Polypterus species would work fine. I grew out an Ornate & Delhezi in a 140 gallon tank that's 16" from front to back. Fish like this can bend to turn so a 2 foot Polypterus wouldn't need a 2' wide tank...

@ CrazedAce, I asked my old land lord about fish tanks before installing. He was fine with it but I don't think he realized how big & how many I would have, ha!

Well my landlord knows about my tanks, but ya, I'm not sure how well the floors would do holding up that much weight. And I could grow out my African fry of course! But it looks like I'm stuck with the two new 55gals, which is bigger than what I currently have fish in. I need to take an entire day or two to move my substrate, plants, and fish into the new tanks...

Sounds like a chore, but the out come will be great!

id say thats one of the old school 75-90 range. the trim and glass thickness are throwing off your measurements id say. either way its WAY better then a 55.. and its easily disguised as such ;)

Ya the 1/4" glass makes it weigh a ton, should have realized that it would impact the gallons. But still amazing for being free lol

I went to the first two pages of google search for "aquarium tank sizes" and couldn't find the right measurements for this tank. I will have to do it from the inside to get the right measurements.
