Anyone know where I can pick up some Botia loaches locally? I'd like to try them in a MTS-infested tank.

We met at dennys petworld and honestly, I haven’t been there in close to 15 years and was a bit disappointed in the fish room…..
On my fish store stops on Friday I had considered going to Denny's, now I dont feel bad that I didn't make it up that way.

Pretty much any shop in the area seems to carry the standard Yo-Yo or clown loaches but you will need to order online pretty much for any others. Been some months back now but Aquarium Co-Op had a huge group of Yo-Yo loaches.

I ordered a group of Botia dario from the Wet Spot, largely because they stay a reasonable size. We'll see how this works out.

Online AI info a bit all over the board, is it 6" or 3" as max size? At least you got an attractive looking one that you don't see very often.

I had a school of botia Dario about 15 years ago from the wetspot. They are great fish. Took care of pest snails and loved algae wafers.. they were a bit spastic and I remember them freaking out my baby bala sharks to the point that I relocated the sharks and kept the loaches with some Congo tetras, and angel fish pair, and a BN pleco.

That is kind of how I feel about my clown loaches at times, spastic. I see videos of them seemingly being calm and I think this has to be fake, lol

Installed new style Aquaclear intake tube and strainer on last of my garage tanks. So I have done 7 filters and already had one new complete AC110 already. I had also got in 3 of the new style u-tubes and had to modify the tab and trim it down to fit with the old cover. Did buy a new style cover but sadly it was cracked so I am waiting on the vendor for a response to my email. Liking my modded versions so far for the ease of cleaning the U-tube and strainer tube.

Wonder if its a difference in wild caught and farm/tank bred? I believe the ones I got from Wet Spot are wild caught, not sure about the ones from Buckley, thinking those might be tank raised

Hey guys just a deal alert, I just ordered a new AC110 for $69.05 from Petsmart. For some reason the site allowed me to double stack and use 2 coupon codes! This usually never happens... Just sharing the deal with you guys

Stopped at Petco this afternoon and picked up a feather-fin catfish to put into the 65B. Hope it doesn't get too big but I can move it into a 90 if it does.

New Aquaclear came in already! Swapped out the old filter for the new and cleaned the old one to put in storage as a back up. Did water changes on garage tanks this morning.

Red wolf fish been a bit upset since substrate change. Going through a bit of a hunger strike. Never had it happen with the last one I kept but reading up on MFK, this does happen with the wolf fish on occasion, apparently no rhyme or reason, they just stop eating for a bit.

I’m proud to say my son is following in the hobby…..

He now has two 20g under his beared dragon tank and he is using the 60g hex to raise up some new fish.

The first 20g he has a very small wild caught Colombian Oscar with some of the coolest markings on the tail I’ve ever seen. He also has a small sailfin pleco in there and 3 smaller upside down catfish.

The other 20g has a 3.5-4” flowerhorn in it.

In the 60g, he has a 3” yellow jardini arrowana, and then today to socialize it, he added his 4” clown knife, his 3-4” delhizhi polypterus, and I let him have my three XL sterbai Cory cats and an adult male BN.

He was just talking about doing a water change for me on my lower 180g tank….. he’s really getting into it.

Went out to Buckley on Sunday and got a (male?) polar parrot for the 40B. Looking for a good looking female now to let them breed. These are said to breed true and should have fry worth a little bit since they are kind of in demand. Not really caring about that aspect, was thinking of breeding them for some puffer food.

If you end up breeding, I’d love to buy some culls for my peacock bass. He’s a true hunter, but still refusing pellets and I won’t don’t goldfish since they are kept in less than desirable conditions. Plus frozen krill can get a bit expensive , haha
