Newts sadly left the pond. Water is much cleaner, I can see bottom. I haven't done any water changes yet, so tint from tannins is still there. I think I over did it on the pre filter, I should have read matala recommendations and used smaller size.
Few updates
1. the tub was bending due to rocks, I removed those lifted tub by hand and slide them underneath, now I have 2 more inches of water
2. I added some comets and shubunkins
3. I ordered some mosquito fish but thinking about getting some rice fish instead
4. Got the motor in picture...
I bought these for $35 last week, getting delivered tomorrow. I am thinking I would be better with getting rice fish instead. I can take 30 to be picked up. Dennys has them for $7 per.
Moved in to a new house in Woodinville, it has this pond in backyard. Seems like motor was disconnected at some point. I live in west coast of WA state, so weather does get cold in Winter but it rarely snows.
Looking for ideas. I was thinking about building a filter and use original motor if it...
I meant to ask what this guy was. I assume that's lionchu.

Yep, the aqueon branded 125s were pretty good. Then came top fin branded 125s, on which stands were not as good. Seems like marineland would bring back the quality. I have to check if the 125 in the petsmart near trader Joe's is aqueon or top fin.
Appologies to dig up an old thread.
Petsmart again replaced it with new model, this time under marineland

This time lights are hiding. I wonder if stand is better than top fin.
