The legend of Zelda Links awakening "remake" on the first Switch is fantastic. Direct copy of the Gameboy version, but modern graphics and a couple non intrusive additions so you can build a dungeon by finding pieces and taking them to a character. Kiddo got into it using my completed game, but then went on to start and finish his own adventure 
Fortunately he currently has no interest in getting the Switch 2. He has bigger visions of a gaming computer with chair etc....

I was looking at Best Buy and saw you could order it online now. Took a week to get to me but I got it. They only had the Mario kart version.

I think they're still at full retail for the first Switch Mario kart. Hoping that will drop in price at some point. That's a great one for some family battles lol At least we have access to the SNES version through their classics catalog online.

Man the pressure is heavy in my normal crab spot this summer. We do so well there that we waited a bit to go out this summer, still limited out but I'm pretty sure people literally dropped pots on my buoy lines, I could feel the snags on one I pulled up. Less than a boat width between some of them. We'll Probably wait until winter season when the normals don't know how to launch without a dock and go out again. Here's the prettiest one though
The Switch 2 set up was a long process… transferring all the info off the old switch and downloading the Mario Kart game. The biggest headache was on my part, got the wrong memory card, I needed the EX and had the standard one instead. Ran up to Game Stop and got the correct microSD and another pro controller and mostly spent the evening setting it all up. Got tired and went to sleep while it was still finishing up downloading. Hopefully ready for some gaming tomorrow.
I have the usb to Game Cube adapter for Super Smash Brothers to be able to play old school with Game Cube controllers like it was meant to be played. Everything I read says it works, so I need to test that out. If everything works, my old switch will be pretty much obsolete…

Haven’t been in about 10 years, but if the crabbing is anything like the salmon fishing right now, it true combat out there to get your spots!
I’ll have to check it out, I’d like to get my son one to finish the thank you for stepping up big time when I was doing dialysis and he was taking on all of the heavy things and late night things I wasn’t able to do!

A little update, a few weeks back, I was able to seed my dad’s beach with Manila clams from Taylor shellfish. I bought two batches, we waited till the low tide of the day -2, then we raked up the sandy parts ( found a couple of adult clams) and we planted the seedlings). If they survive, they should be ready to be harvested in 2-3 years.
We made a barrier on the beach with my dad’s XXL oysters to circle the area we seeded. I’m hopeful that they don’t all wash down the beach ( we did bury them just a little bit) and that a rogue moon snail doesn’t come through and eat them all! We did add the netting they recommended but it wasn’t large enough to cover the entire area, we shall see.

Very cool. If you want I can probably find some suggestions for the clam and oyster beds on keeping things maintained, moon snails etc... Local indigenous practices I'm sure would help. It's stuff I've already done basic reading on but certainly wouldn't mind deep diving lol If I actually liked being underwater I certainly would enjoy exploring ancestral beds underwater.
I gifted a lot of seed and planted most of mine too early But luckily I found one last gift pouch with 5 seed pods in it at the right time. The very last of my ceremonial tobacco is finally growing.
There's a couple in the organic potting soil that sprouted. But so many more sprouted in soil from the bottom of a pond that I saved after harvesting some cattail roots. That's the soil that was traditionally dug up for cultivating plants. Oral history can teach us much. It's always muskrat that helps the people create the earth by bringing up soil from the bottom of a body of water. I'm sure I can find stuff on oysters etc... and probably already have stuff I just haven't read because I focus more on plants. I know there's a story on talking or maybe walking clams in my Salish country cook book.

So this has been happening for a few days now. I already have a very full colony of dubia roaches, but grasshoppers are a seasonal treat. Hopefully I don't kill all the nymphs next lol Variety is always good enrichment and buying insects is kind of frustrating with the quality locally. Really need to get a grub colony going.
