Flake debate 2016

What would you recommend for a good quality flake food? I'm using up the rest of the tetramin I have and am looking for a better food. I read something about new life spectrum having garlic in it and supposed to be rather good for fish. Note my fish are rams, rummy nose tetras, endlers, a betta and rasboras not all in the same tank

For me it seems flake food is purchased about every 6+months and I end up picking up something different everytime. I've tried "high end" flake foods like Paradigm or Southern delight or whatever and seems like there is no real difference. Flake food is like 1 of 3 foods I feed my fish every night. The other 2 being micro pellets and blood worms.

Hard to beat the value of kensfish.com when you have as many tanks as i do.

I like the Zoo Med Spirulina 20 flakes. They are absolutely huge so you would have to break them down for smaller fish.

I fed Ken's flake for years. Then I realized all the fillers in it and ended up with a bad batch killing alot of my angel fry. I have switched to Southern Delight and I can't rave enough about it! It's cost effective, not full of fillers, my tanks are cleaner, fish are healtheir looking with better colors, and they poop less! Win win win.

I thought about trying out some southern delight. But there is basically no info on it except a lot of marketing propaganda. You know where i can find some info? There doesn't seem to be a website for it.

I received some paradigm from a local breeder that wasnt happy with it, so they gave some for me to try. My fish wouldn't touch it and it just clouded my water. Maybe a bad batch of food idk. I wouldn't mind giving southern delight a whirl. I got some New life spectrum recently and fish are going nuts for that.

Paradigm Graze has been a flop here too, usually gets moldy before anybody eats it and I have to fish it out.

I have some SD nano krill, that goes over okay. But just about everything in my tanks goes bonkers for NLS.

I had this issue when switching to SD. My adult Angels started dropping to the substrate one by one. After loosing a second adult I switched back. Months went by without a fatality so I tossed the Southern Delight and Paradigm foods.

I was very hesitant about trying the SD line. People raved about it but I noticed a pattern. Just about everyone mentioned it took a while for their fish to except the foods. To me this is odd. Just about every fish I have are freaks when it comes to dinner time and will freak out over any food I introduce. Why then do fish shy away when one tosses in SD? Wierd....

Wow I'm not sure. Mine have been just the opposite. Mine love it and ignore Ken's or NLS. I don't have one problem switching them. I have angels and they love and never had problems with SD.
