This is what I picture in my head when I see Bettas flaring at eachother. LOL Couldn't help it. I was bored, so I did some shoddy photo editing. =P

Please feel free to post any other fish related photos that make you laugh. This topic is not restricted to just bettas... :)

that would be awesome lol I swear my little red one has the BIGGEST flair I've ever seen. Most of the betta's I've kept have had like half flairs where only 1/2 the gill cover will go or the extra skin/thing behind the gill cover won't flair or they're just not that interested in it but every time he flairs and really means it not only does he manage to make a 90 degree with his face but that extra skin-thing gives him just that little bit extra to look ridiculously huge lol
also, have you ever stood close enough to a tank to hear them crunching their dinner? LOL

betta pellets. They eat them before they can become water logged lol You can tell when one of mine isn't feeling so hot because instead of the crunch they repeatedly spit them out until softer. lol they get freeze dried bloodworms sometimes too.

Whoaaaa...nice! I feed mine live black worms. I do have betta pellets by Hikari, but I seldom feed them those. Maybe I should feed them the pellets more often. :D

good luck getting them to eat the pellets after feeding them live food! I gave mine blood worms as a treat then I had to starve him for a week before he would eat the pellets again

I blame petco and petsmart for confusing customers that, yes, it's okay to keep bettas in small unfiltered containers. Bah. :\

And... I lost to this. (btw, please don't force a puffer fish to puff up, especially out of water...if you do, I will personally climb your window and go into your room, and fart on your face while you're sleeping, RIGHT as you're about to inhale.....through your mouth.)
