What a mess.

I had a hose come off a canster filter and pump about 40 gal. water out on the carpet before I found it. Just finished cleaning up the mess. I guess I can look at it like a 50% water change that was due next week. I think I'll need to invest in a carpet cleaner, the Rug Doc. did a pretty good job sucking the water out of the carpet. What do you guy use when a major leak.

Thanks Rick

You really need to get all the moisture up and get it dried. If your carpets are a bit old like mine, they will soon stink REALLY BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!! Rent a carpet fan and get it on it.

Thats what I have on it now, I pick it up a couple years back and come in handy for this kind of thing.

I'm sorry this happened, part of keeping water in the house, I know at least 50% of fish keepers go though a similar experiance at some point or another. My last one was about 70 gallons. I really feel for you, good luck in clean/dry up. If it makes you feel any better I had to rip out a wall with the 70 gallon spill because of water damage.

Funny how even 10g in a fish tank looks small but spread that out over your floor and it seems huge, let alone having to deal with 40g. I feel for you Rick! I haven't had any major leaking issues yet...

Hey Rick when our washer leaked about 50 gal water in our basement we bought a shop vac to suck up all the water and it worked quite well.
