Update on my dovii pair from yesterday, this is their 8th spawn. They are in a 300 gallon to themselves and have around 200-300 fry with them at a few weeks old.

Your photos are great, couldn't do any better.
If you want close up images of the fish, lots of light, aperture around 3.5-5.6, crystal clear glass/acrylic tripod and pray, or delete until you get desired results.

Thanks for the kind words Sonny. I guess I am pretty happy for my second day shooting lol.. I do need a speedlight though that will sync up with a Nikon D90 so if you know of anyone willing to part with one hit me up. I am trying the apeture at 8-16 today and see if that helps, will try the 3.5-5.6 after.

Nice looking Dovii. My pair have been really getting physical with each other the last few days. It has been rough. He is 18" and she is a good 12-13". She is a real *****. But on the bright side, I figured it was pre-spawning aggression. This morning woke up to eggs. :)

My small pair of Costa Rican Golds have been doing the pre-spawn ritual all day. Maybe they are next. It would be their 1st spawn. He is about 7", she is 5".

Keep working on the pic taking. I really need to invest in some remote flashes.

I agree with everyone, that tank looks awesome.... how long after the babies grow do you have to wait to pull them into there own grow out cause parents start to snack on them?

Thanks! :D I only pull the fry every other spawn. I pull them when they are wigglers (second day after hatching). The every other spawn I leave with the parents so there is always fry in the tank. If there are no fry, the male is ready to spawn right away and if the female isn't, she takes a beating. Leaving every other spawn in seems to work for me.
