Spyral's SW update!

Well, the tank has been up and running for quite a while now. I went out today and, with the help of lars, got a HOB protein skimmer, a new Odysea 4 bulb fixture (along with 4 moonlight LED's), some corals and a cool watchman goby!

I now have 150 watts of light on the 25 gallon tank (6 watts per gallon)! This fixture is bad ass. 3 separate switches and power cords, 1 each for the daylight, actinic and the LED's. Got a good deal on it at Aquarist World for $110.

Cool thing, after adding the light, my Saddle Back Clowns are now trying to host a feather duster! Lars got some cool video of them in action..lol

The new protein skimmer has been churning out the foam like MAD! It is a CPR Bak Pak 2R+ skimmer, I got it for $75 at Sierra, it was slightly used. It retails for $150, and is well worth it.

Now for some pictures:

Well done Spyral. Its too bad SW can be so expensive even for a small tank but the pay off is very nice.

thanks for the compliments every one!

As for the cost, Salzabar, we did some quick figuring yesterday and I have about $1000 in that 25 gallon tank..lol.

Betty, I want an anemone soooooo bad, but the tank needs to be up at least 6 months before you introduce one to your tank. Or so all the experts say. Believe me, every time we go to a pet store I am drooling over anemones and wanting to buy one.

holy crap...that Koralia is waaaaay too pwerful for my tank. I turned it on, the feather dusters closed up, polyps and zoos closed...my little goby went flying across the sand..it was sheer terror! I turned it off..anyone want to trade a brand new 850GPH Koralia for a 240GPH Koralia? lol
