salinity levels!

ok so just a few days ago i had a really bad thing happen. my water was getting way to low because of evaporation and my corals started dieing. all in all 3 corals died because of raised salinity levels. it was up to 1.040, NEVER let your water salinity get to high. just wanted to post my failure :p

word word but how many gallons thats what packs the punch lol i know your just a kid and salt is much harder and more expensive so i got respect just had to bring you down a lil today since you got your salt water form

DUDE, my tank did the same exact thing. But it only ent up to 1.034 or so, most of the coral are still alie

only 10 gallons, but im setting up a 50galllon as we speak (type)

Just remember you always want to top off your tanks with freshwater. Salt does not evaporate and keeping your tank topped off will keep your salinity level constant. I top mine off every morning and evening.
