The Greater Seattle Aquarium Society (GSAS) is pleased to sponsor a free lecture on 'Raising Fish for Fun and Profit' by the internationally known aquarist, author, speaker, and Discus Specialist ......Dick Au.

You may remember that Dick did a presentation for us in October of 2010 on Discus and he is back by popular demand! Dick Au is a veteran speaker and show judge for the aquarium hobby. Widely sought after, his no-nonsense, experience-based lectures have gained him wide recognition. Most recently, he lectured at the 2009 Aquarama in Singapore, at the 2010 NADA Convention in Dallas as well as at many aquarium societies in the country. With over 50 years in the hobby, Dick is an experienced tropical fish breeder, and an accomplished author. He authored two books on discus -- the Back to Nature: A Guide to Discus and Trophy Discus. He is also a frequent contributor to Aquarium Fish International, Tropical Fish Hobbyist (TFH) and Diskus Brief magazines.

The lecture will be next Tuesday, March 13th, 2012 at 7:30PM at Seattle Pacific University; Otto Miller Hall; Room 109; West Nickerson Street and 3rd Avenue West

Doors will open around 7:10PM; the meeting will start at about 7:30PM

The lecture will be followed by a short auction

Open to the public, no entrance fee

Family friendly but no childcare provided
Free parking, accessible building
No furry or feathered pets

Dick Au did this presentation at GPAS last fall and a few GSAS members went down and caught it; they say it is definitely hearing twice!

Hi All,

Our regular GSAS meeting with the presentation 'Raising Fish for Fun and Profit' by Dick Au is only one week away (March 13th). Guests are welcome. In addition, for GSAS Members and by reservation only, there is a second presentation about Angelfish on the evening of March 12th at a different location.

How long does the meeting/auction usually last?? what time should I expect to be home by?

Hi Sandnuka,

The doors open at 7:10, the meeting starts at 7:30, the speaker usually starts at 7:45, the presentation and Q&A are usually over by 9:00. We start the 'mini-auctions' about 9:10 and try to be done with everything by 10:00 PM. Hope that helps!

I just missed it..... I did go out in the parking lot and met betty there... maybe I will catch the next one of my day isnt so crazy and including a group buy.
