Question - small white specks on glass and free floating.

Imagine: cutting up a grey/white hair into small pieces.
It started when I repositioned my prefilter for the fx5.

Any clue?

Glass and water.
But they are not alive. I don't see them moving around.

I had some white cottony looking pieces on my glass and tank..... I just wipe it down... do a big water change and they always go away. Think it was some kind of alge???

could it be some filter media clothe debris??

Nah...dog's hair is actually trapped on the prefilter. Lol.

This may sound like a dumb question...but is it possible you had some lint fibers from a towel on your hands when you repositioned the filter? lol I actually had something similar happen the other day when I went to change my bettas' water after washing up and using what I -thought- was a lint-free towel. I had tiny little "hairs" all over in the bowl. lol

All over the glass...before. Now it's clear since I repositioned filter plumbing.

So...filter was moved, debris appeared, then it cleared up on it's own? Still sounds kinda like lint to me.

I hope it is, was lint. Wouldn't want anything questionable in the tank.

Well, if it wasn't moving and it's gone now, it's unlikely that it was anything harmful.
