Ok so here is the deal, I dont know too much about them. I know they are a hybrid fish that wouldnt exist naturally. I know they are agressive. That about covers my knowledge of them. Oh I read somewhere they dont like black bacgrounds? Sounds weird to me but hey I'm No expert. Are there eyes normally this red? Thats pretty freaky lol

Enjoy the pictures and anyone out there with experience, that wants to throw in tid bitsof info please be my guest, the floor is yours.

Oh one more thing. There color is pretty cool on there dorsal fin the have a red color but it didnt show up, neither did there blue speckles. I have two but one is hiding.

Normally flowerhorn eyes are pink.... Sometimes red, but normally pink.... I love the color of your guy though.... seirously... he/she is gonna look freakin amazing when it gets bigger.... 6 months from now that thing will be a stunner, tons of pink it looks like. very nice... where'd you get him/her??

Yeah, your dead on for them being a hybrid.... There is not any in the wild, they are a mix of a bunch of new world/ american cichlids..... they got the best features from all other fish, and cause they have such large spawns, people cull all the unwanted guys, and hand pick the top guys to create a perfect fish... (well if you think perfect is a large hump) :)

I dont know too much more about them, kingstature on here is an flowerhorn expert, knows all the different types, etc. think he is still on vacation though.

Great markings for a juvy. He will color up soon! Flowerhorns are fun. Feed him often but don't overfeed.
I'm feeding cichlid gold, and mysis frozen cubes. It gets like 6 pellets and 1/3 of a cube (well close to it i cut it and it breaks). Would you recomend different?

Red eyes are from the Trimac genes. Trimacs have dark red eyes (most flowerhorns look like Trimacs also).

Thats cool to know. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for looking guys/gals!

Hey just so everyone knows those flowerhorns are from Kingstature.
just so everyone knows I am the breeder of that fish and many more. I sold a bunch to Kingstature months ago and still have dozens of that variety left, many are even higher quality. its variety is King Pink Saphire Dragon Flowerhorn. and its a true Zhen Zhu (pearl spotted) flowerhorn fish so they are always fertile and have strong red colored eyes. (white eyes = nearly infertile males) (red eyes = always fertile males) anything inbetween is like playing hit and miss. If a female layes eggs its fertile.
Thanks BillsAquaSea.

These are some of them mixed with my other new breeds, all types shown in this pic are still available for sale, varieties shown include but not limited to, King Pink Saphire Dragon (BDKK x Pink Pearl Luohan), Yellow King Ting Luohan (BDKK x RoseQueen Red Devil), Fader Orange Flame Wuhua (King Snakeskin Red Dragon x Red Flame Trimacu)... and for those who dont know BDKK means (BlueDiamond x KingKamfa).. I am a specialist in breeding these fishes and have produced over 20 varietes in the last two years... all are considered to be domesticated mix breed flowerhorn hybrid cichlids.. no species names just common names.

Oh and what bloodline is mine? Not sure how to ask that question. Mine now looks like the little flowerhorn in the middle of your pic or as close to the middle in the pic

As for quality its probably nearly grade A since it has most of its flowers, it was young and looked a bit washed out in those pics, but most often they get a strong red belly once they get a bit bigger and the pearls get brighter too. it all depends on how you care for it. you can buy a great looking fish and it could lose all its color in bad water, and you can buy one that looks like a runt and with the proper care it will still turn out grade A if it has the geneitics, so your fish is probably lookin great by now.

As for sexing them its very hard to be sure its a male when young but as for females just look for a dark spot in the upper dorsal fin and its usually 90% conclusive you have a female then, judging from your earlier pics its more likely to be male.

post a new pic and i could tell you more. its a king saphire dragon for sure. again thats (BlueDiamondxKingKamfa x PinkPearlLuohan) my own unique variation. BDKK is also called King Golden Monkey for short by many overseas breeders.
