My angel fish bred

i was super surprised that my two angel fish bred in my classroom tank...

Male is a black mottled color female is a mostly white calico looking one.

The kids loved seeing the egg laying in real life, but were super disappointed today when the eggs were gone.

I may have to get rid of the tetras and just keep the angels.....

I’ll upload a pic or two tomorrow of the surprising pair

Congrats! I remember the disappointment -- it took my breeding pair (and me) several attempts to finally get it right.

Welp, came back after the weekend and either the tetras in there or the loaches ( dojo) ate the eggs

Or the parents... It usually takes them a few tries to get it right, and then the really hard part begins- raising the fry.

Sorry to hear that but they'll get the hang of it eventually! The kids will get a kick out of it for sure.

Very true. There are few things in the hobby that are as cool as watching angel fish fry grow their 'wings,' which they do when they are still very small.
