Got 3 of these (1m 2f) but don't know what exactly they are. Look like a Lake Victoria cichlid but just unsure of the name. Maybe Pundamilia nyererei?Any ideas?
On a side note one of the females is holding already and so there might be fry available in the near future if anyone is interested.
There are a couple that look very similar however this looks like a Pundamilia nyererei (Ruti Island) to me. Which is semi common among victorians. Beautiful fish! Does he look like this all the time or is he displaying his mating colors??
That was my best guess too and he is always this color since I got him a month or so ago but he is only about 2 1/4" so I can't wait to see what he looks like a little bigger and filled out.
I love the Victorian males. They are some of the most colorful fish around I think. Feisty guys too and most can hold their own in a tank. Great looking fish both of those above.
