So yeah my power has been out for like two hours now....I can see the electricity people trying to fix it but i dont know how long that is going to take because the whole block is out of power

Any suggestions on what to do, my water TEMP keeps going down in my tanks

Dont panic. Most fish can handle a gradual water temp changes. It should be warm enough in your house to keep the tank temp warm enough. Your water heater for the house should still have hot water in it. You could fill water bottles with hot water and put them in your tank. Not too many at a time. Dont raise the temp too fast.

if you have a gas stove turn it on and throw a match under that puppy and light her up! Thats how we kept ours warm last christmas.

That or I still suggest the bonfire method.

Not that this is comforting

My brother in law used to have cichlids out in his POND with koi fish. Yeah, pond in washington. 50-60 degrees, kept em with koi, bass, catfish, other cichlids

Cover the tank with a blanket to prevent heat from escaping the water through any cracks or holes. Like previously said, the fish should be able to withstand the water temp change.

Hey, I just heard that PSE is expecting the power to be back on about 2 am. Just letting you know since you dont have power you probably haven't heard the news. Hang in there. I think the fish will be fine.

I only lost one....all the other ones made it no problem....I guess that one was not able to handle the water temp changing so drastically

NO IDEA. Releashed some goldfish into the ponds and out from the shadowey abyss came like 30 baby cichlids after them, but they looked african. Not sure if they could endure it, but they didnt look american.

What did the temp get down to? What size tank is it? How many hours was the power off? What was the temp in your house when the power went out? It would be helpful to others to know the particulars if their power goes out how much their tank temp would change and how fast. What if anything did you do to maintain the temp?
