Fresh Water Filters

Why is it that my brand new Whisper filter is louder than my Biowheel?


I can't even hear the air bubbles.
what fresh water filters have you guys used, and which ones are your favorites, and why?
I have a mere 3 months experience.

I love aqueon, I believe they are one of the best HOB's (hang on back) filters.... they have a trickle water thing to kinda bring more oxygen in the water, it makes a very nice trickling water sound, but not the annoying motor sounds..... You can actually remove the trickle piece, and then its almost completly silent...

Otherwise, I am a cansiter lover.... any and all.... really I havent had a problem with any canisters, even cascade brand (the cheapest one) works great. Holds tons of healthy bacteria too, so it makes cycling tanks very quick.
