Well, I have gathered the parts and spent the cash. Can't put it off any longer. Today is the day I rebuild the suspension on the 92 Caddy. Not really looking forward to doing this Solo. Front is getting new CV axles, new struts, new brake rotors and pads. Rear is getting new struts, new rotors, and pads. Should take up most of the day. Then it will have to sit till I can get the front aligned.

Good luck. Last time I rebuilt a front suspension was a 66 Ford Fairlane. Took me several weekends, but it was beyond worth it.

Front end; New passenger CV axle. Both sides got new coilover struts (non electronic), New brake rotors and pads. So at Least the front is complete. Took it down to Firestone and got it aligned. The guy said I did a remarkable job for an "eyeball alignment" to get it to the shop. Rears will have to wait for tomorrow. Just ran outta time today.

Way to go. It can be tough to eyeball the alignment. Sometimes you think you have it, and then you bring the car down and the car is virtually undrivable. Lol

Back is done now. New struts, rotors, and brake pads... It was a pain, but it's done. Car now rides and drives great. Just happy to be done with it. Man I hurt everywhere and then some.

:)

My grandfather was an airplane mechanic in WWII. Lots of stories of high pressure repairs, often with improvised parts and tools. When I was a kid he visited once in his huge motorhome, towing a ford escort. He noticed the escort's front tire squeaking, went and got a bearing for $2 at the neighborhood parts store, and replaced it with ease. I watched in awe as he worked, explaining what he was doing, not even really thinking about what he was doing, proud that his 15-20 minutes of work saved him $100.

This was a far cry from when my Dad worked on cars. Cursing, blood, damaged parts!

Thanks for bringing back the happy memories keman!
