automatic water change with an aquarium with an over flow

Hi guys, it is heating up and my garden needs more water. I'm trying to think of ways to collect water from my aquarium to water my garden daily. I'm also wanting to spend as little time possible doing this and trying to automate the process as much as possible. I was surfing the net and came across this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtekO7RRRcA . I believe this will work for aquarium with canister, hob, sponge filters but won't work with aquarium with wet/dry or sump filters. Does anyone know how i can incorporate this into the an aquarium with a wet dry filter?

Haven't watch the video but I'm sure you can build one on any kind of filter system. Think of how the toilet works...probably all you need is a float valve and some plumbing parts...you can fill up your tank or add water by either gravity from the reservoir tank or water pressure right off your water line.
