Angelfish

The breeding of Angelfish is not a difficult procedure as they care for their own spawn so it is
better to leave them to it once they have spawned. Use some live food like adult brine shrimp
or frozen food to get the pair into spawning condition.

it's pretty common for angels to eat the eggs and or fry.
there are times when the pair(parents) will 'parent' raise the fry.

many very successful breeders prefer to remove the eggs when they are laid.
the slate/cone is often used for the spawn site. it is removed(carefully) usually kept submerged and moved to a grow out tank. the tank water is usually treated with the proper dose of methylene blue or H202..this is used to keep the water free from bacteria.. the stone/cone is usually kept near an airstone(circulation)
this method often brings the higher hatch rates(providing the pair is actually viable)

I actually let the parents hatch out the eggs and either remove the fry at wiggler stage or shortly after freeswimming,

keep in mind the stage from egg to wiggler is approx 3 days and 3 more days from wiggler to freeswimmer.. so once you get to wigglers.. best to start hatching BBS unless =you have infusoria or a good food.
this is in a nutshell..raising fry and get to be very time consuming ;)

Im trying to that. First got to pair up a pair. Fredieb and I are trying to find the pairs by swapping out our angels. He has 6 or 8. I got 2. He is lending me his angels to pair with his. Then give back his. And see what pairs up on the rest for his 6 -8.. Then we will see if they spawn. Well I read more on caring for the frys.

Check out the photo in the POTM #3 that is what I use a breeding slates.  Some pair will raise there own and others will eat theres, so you have to pull them and raise the eggs. If you have question I will do my best to get you the answers....  Good luck and have fun...

How do you know when they form a pair. All 8 Angels are just nip picking on each other but no serious injuries.

You will see 2 of them pushing all the others over to one side. If you see one go horizontal look for eggs on your plants....
