The deer are getting accustomed to me.

Are you feeding them or just allowing them to stay a healthy distance away?

My grandparents used to own 20 acres (15 forested) in Lacey, wa and my grandma would call them and feed them apples in the winter time that she collected off her trees in the summer/ fall.

I always told her she was setting them up to be easy targets for hunters but she insisted they didn’t need to leave her acreage so they would be fine…..

Gotta love little Italian Grandmothers! Haha

Not feeding them yet, just slowly and gradually getting closer while talking to them. Kiddo got some game cameras for Xmas, going to set those up and set out rutabagas, apples and carrots for them along with kitchen scraps like broccoli stalks, apple cores etc... rotating out different things. There's dozens of crabapple trees out back that they already feed off.
