Substrate for planted shrimp tank?

My wife wants to have shrimp and plants, the Seachem Fluorite Black Sand looks nice, but has a nice price. Someone posted a link to a place in Renton (???) that sold substrate in bulk, that seems like it could be a plan, but I can't find the link anywhere here.

Any other suggestions?

I have a 100 lb bag of manufacturer mineral's 16 grit black sand if you want some. I use it in my shrimp tank and it makes the red cherry shrimp and crystal red shrimp's color pop.

I have a heavily planted tank 46G bowfront with 100+ RCS and 5+ amano shrimp as well. I use Caribsea Eco-complete planted. I mixed in a little Fluorite I had laying around as well. The eco is black and looks nice. I paid 20$ for a twenty pound bag shipped to my house on petmountain.com. They send me 20% of emails all the time. The only kicker is shipping is only free is you spend 75$. I usually just add other stuff i need til I get to 75$. Other sites usually have an extra charge to ship heavy items, but these guys haven't started doing that yet. Good luck with the tank.
