Keep or donate?

Hello everyone,

Looking for some advice on what to do with a pair of pea puffers. Unfortunately, I noticed the tank was leaking from the bottom a little while ago and had to take the tank down. I would have gone to the store to pick up another tank for them, but I am having surgery on Tuesday and am not very able bodied (crutches make it hard to carry things). For tonight only I am keeping the puffers in a 5 gallon bucket with decorations and a heater. Tomorrow I plan on donating the pair to the lfs, but I was wondering if I could instead try putting them in my 40 gallon community. I've read that puffers can be pretty aggressive and should be kept in species only tanks but I haven't seen any aggression between the pair. My 40 has lots of nooks and crannies for hiding and is stocked with mostly fast swimming fish (tetras, rasboras, white clouds), the only exceptions being a school of corydoras and a bn pleco. The water parameters are ok for the puffers as well. Wondering if anyone has experience with puffers in a similar community tank. I am interested in keeping them simply because the fish are awesome and it would save me from having to pester my mom for a ride to the lfs. All advice welcome, thanks!

I'd totally try them in the 40 gallon community first if it was me.

Id definitely try the community tank. Pea puffers aren't as aggressive as their other puffer counterparts.
