I got double layer egg tumbler from Kens fish. Came with dial for control. Can also use drip irrigation valve.
Should be easy to replace valve if it is inline.
That is a good looking fish! I now have 13 Kiriza from gobluecichlid so I am an official tropheus keeper now!
I have a 50 gallon high tech plant tank and I bought a complete setup 100 gallon recently and put all the plants I bought at plant auction, no fish yet. I have been trying to get the pH to go down set it at about 6.5. Bubbling away for days. Finally decided to check calibration of my pH probe...

Now if I can control my auto correct. Brooder not browser! :D
CO2 does lower pH. It is equillibrium as an acid in water. Carbonic acid.
Co2 does not displace oxygen but it does have toxic effect at high levels in that it interferes with respiration or gas exchange in the gills/lungs. The exchange of co2 and o2 is driven by partial pressures and too much...
One thing I just thought of is that if you do selective breeding for a trait, like shrimp people do to get cherry red or other varieties if you cross those you may get wild type which is dull brown. Not pretty.
Aulonacara species are more stable than that because the fish themselves have done...
Actually the more the better. As you know Mbuna can get distracted from picking on other fish with many other fish in the tank. It depends more on which fish. If they are all aulonocara maybe. Pseudotropheus seem to leave fry alone.
If you don't want to sell or give away it can be...
The fact that there are so many different varieties of Aulonacara is not a reflection of them crossing all the time. It is a reflection of them not crossing all the time.
In Lake Malawi what you have is many different areas of the lake that are piles of rocks with sand between. Fish tend to...
