Hi guys! I'm new, and already have questions relating to my dovii!

Because WA has some seriously dedicated members and cichlid nuts. Why not combine forces by region? There are lots of us in this area that keep dovii as well. I have a pair I am very proud of. They currently have tons of fry in with them in a 300 gallon on a drip system (70% auto water change...

Sad day in the Madness family

Dang sorry to hear about this.. I have a teenager too and know how irrational they can be at times. As pissed as you might be, a good dad is far more important to be than a good fish keeper. From this side of the screen it doesn't appear your going overboard on your boy, I appload you for that...

This is what has kept me going!

I like him a lot. I have never kept a convict but am in a phase in my life of keeping common fish to find out what all the fuss is about and makes them popular. I am enjoying it too. The rare stuff can get stressful and take away rom the hobby for me, it hasn't always been that way but as...

UPDATE: Amphilophus citrinellus - massive male

The pics above are taking without a remote/external flash, just good settings a solid manual focus and getting in the habbit of shooting without flash (tank has Marineland double bright LED's which is not great but is OK). Good gear goes a long ways but I bet you can get amazing shots without...

    UPDATE: Parachromis dovii Pair/Fry

Thank you Sam. Thanks! :D I only pull the fry every other spawn. I pull them when they are wigglers (second day after hatching). The every other spawn I leave with the parents so there is always fry in the tank. If there are no fry, the male is ready to spawn right away and if the female isn't...

    UPDATE: Parachromis dovii Pair/Fry

Thanks for the kind words Sonny. I guess I am pretty happy for my second day shooting lol.. I do need a speedlight though that will sync up with a Nikon D90 so if you know of anyone willing to part with one hit me up. I am trying the apeture at 8-16 today and see if that helps, will try the...
